The DeCourcey Family Oringinated from Irish, French, Scotish, English and British cultures. We came here between 1788-1849 first starting with John DeCourcy. Our family name can be spelled in many different ways such as; DeCourcey, DeCoursey, DeCourcy, Courcy, Courcey, Coursey, Courcie, Curcy, Cursie, Curcie and many more. We owned many Dairy farms, and were known for our hard working nature. Our family name comes from the Normandy culture, John DeCourcy built a castle called the Dundrum Castle in Ireland in the 13th century. We also have a castle called The Château de Courcy which is a ruined castle in the commune of Courcy in the south of the Calvados département of France, built in the 12th- 13th- century.
