Stories

In the year 1948, the same year that my grandparents had gotten married. Clarence Edward Gallant was accepted to the oversears service by the town of summerside. He lived in Summerside at the time and he was only eight-teen when he went to the war overseas against aggression. He was sadly killed later in that war and so his acceptance of the war was then sent to his sister Mary Eleanor Gallant who is my grandmother.

When Eleanor Gallant (my nannie) was growing up, her and her brothers and sisters were put into an orphanage, back around those times the orphanages were not a pleasant place to live. There are many horrible things that happened in other orphanages, even though I'm not sure exactly what had happend in this particular one. They were moved into many different foster homes all across Prince Edward Island. She mostly grew up in Summerside.
